The PA listened to my symptoms and asked relevant questions about how I contracted ankles, calves, and feet red spots that were increasing by the day and were very itching and had a burning sensation that kept me from sleeping. I had previous tried over the counter permethrin on the advise of a Walgreen’s pharmacist for scabies that had no effect. The PA informed me that prescription strength permethrin (the standard treatment for scabies) had a 10 fold higher concentration and gave me a prescription for it. I applied it that evening, and my symptoms and rash were much improved that night and resolved in several days. She was very polite and understanding.
