Why does my child need a physical?
Prevention is the most important aspect of a school, camp, or sports physical. The examination allows a trained medical professional to screen for illnesses or minor ailments that could lead to serious medical problem during intense physical activity.
For many young athletes, their annual physical provides them with reassurance for the upcoming season. Physicals don’t prevent injuries that happen during competition, but they can tell you that you’re medically ready to compete.
And if a problem is detected during a physical, it’s usually caught before it becomes serious. Your CareSpot provider can help you figure out treatment options and you may be able to resolve the issue in time to redo your physical and still participate in your activity.
Note: Requirements may vary by school or sports organization—so be sure to check what forms or details you need before your visit
