This was my second visit, both Covid related and I had made an appointment both times. My first visit could not have gone more smoothly from the moment I walked in the door. The second visit was for my whole family because of exposure to 4 people who had tested positive. We completely understand that it is a busy time and while we were waiting at least 8 people walked in (no appointment) for Covid tests. The receptionist was busy I am sure. When we arrived on time for our 5:30 appointment she asked for IDs. We told her then that my 18 year old daughter didn’t have hers. We gave her mine and my husbands. We all sat down and waited. 30 minutes later she asked for my 18 year old’s ID again. We reminded her that she didn’t have it. She then stated that she couldn’t be seen. When I stated that she could drive home to get it, she told us that our daughter would then have to be put on a waitlist. We were pretty frustrated since we live close by and if she had told us when we arrived my daughter could have easily driven home and back in the 40 minutes we were waiting to be finished checking in. We sent her home anyway to get the ID because it was very important that she be tested. When my daughter got home she sent a photo of her ID to my husband, hoping that would help get the process started. My husband showed the ID to the receptionist and she didn’t really respond with a clear answer about whether they could check her in. When the remaining three of us were taken back I explained to the doctor what had happened. I am not sure he understood because he said “Since the three of you were all here on time we will work your daughter in when she arrives.” I didn’t have the energy to explain again that we had all been there on time… In the end my daughter arrived back within 5 minutes of the rest of the family being tested. She gave the receptionist her ID and they did take her back within 10 minutes which we greatly appreciated. Every one involved in the actual rooming and testing was wonderful. The receptionist was never rude, I think she was just overwhelmed. This is a very long way to say that when people make their appointments they should be reminded that EVERYONE 18 and older needs to bring their IDs. 🙂

efficent and fast..and to the point

My last visit on 12/02/20 was excellent as a patient. Actually no improvements that I can think of. My prior visit which was 2 or 3 years ago was terrible and I walked out because of a nurse. I wanted a simple ekg and the nurse had an attitude and was giving me a lecture. The dr. called me immediately when I left to find out what the problem was which I respect. I conveyed to the nurse it was nothing critical that I should go to the er. I am an employee at jfk and I know the costs of an er visit that we have to pay the physicians bill which is around $600.00. I appreciate the service that was provided on my last visit and will highly consider going back to your facility. Thank you, [NAME REMOVED]
