I had an accident where I needed sutures, and this accident occurred two days prior to me being scheduled for major surgery. The hospital had already tested me and cleared me for Covid-19 prior to the surgery, and the hospital had requested that I self-quarantine until the surgery. We called the location and explained the above to the receptionist. She brought the iPad to collect information out to our vehicle, and collected our copay from our car. She then allowed us to wait in the car until a room was ready, and called us directly to the room from the car. Additionally, Samantha Smindak, PA was our health care provider on this day, and I cannot say enough good words regarding Samantha’s care. She was kind, empathetic, and professional. It was late in the day (we arrived at CareSpot at 7:30 pm), and Samantha patiently stitched 22 sutures in my knees, and made sure that I was completely taken care of, including prescriptions for antibiotics to protect against infection. I don’t know your policy around providing spot bonuses, but if it were my company, I would certainly want to give both Samantha and the receptionist that evening a little extra to recognize their commitment and caring.
