I was in severe pain with what turned out to be a bladder infection. I was told there would be a wait, there was no one in the waiting room, but that I could wait outside and come back in later. I did not have an appointment. I returned in 30 minutes and waited another 15 minutes. This was an opportunity for a pager or text. The doctor was pleasant and caring and prescribed an antibiotic. She stated that the urine test results may be available in a few days and that I would be notified if a change in treatment was recommended. However, I could call in a few days to see if the results arrived sooner and could talk to a doctor again if needed. Three days later the situation had worsened to extreme pain. I called in the morning and asked specifically if I should return to the clinic. The receptionist, Miguel was helpful but did not have any indication of of my results and the doctor was busy. I asked for options and it was stated to call back after 1pm. I gutted it out and call back after 1pm. The young lady that answered was not helpful. She had no idea when my results would be available and the doctor was still busy. I told her I was in extreme pain and needed some options. She said “If our treatment is not working for you, you should go to the emergency room.” This advice should have been given on Day 1 or when I first called, and from a doctor rather than a receptionist. At the emergency room I was diagnosed with an acute bladder infection and drained via catheter. The ER doctor stated that the anti-biotics that I was prescribed were ineffective for bladder infections and more obvious specific recommendations were appropriate. The next day I received an email from Medpost stating that my urine test had been processed and no new recommendations were needed. Great timing, and clearly wrong. This activity was a week ago. I have now seen a urologist and am home, and still have the catheter for another two weeks, which likely could have been avoided. In this case Medpost simply failed to communicate well, prescribed an ineffective medicine, demonstrated little sympathy, understanding or initiative when contacted, blocked any communication with a medical professional, and then prevented any real time feedback by sending a text. At no time was there a follow up from medical staff, even after being contacted twice. There are certainly some lessons to be learned here. As for me, I will not be back to Medpost.

When I went to see the doctor I went with a valid concern. Took the time off work due to the situation. I felt the doctor was dismissive and not interested in finding root of the problem. He didn’t ask any probing question regarding my issue. Once he entered the room he had already diagnosed me without even checking my issue and identify cause. Although I explained what was going on, I kept getting as a response was exercise. He was looking at the chart and not the person.

Fast service, Very friendly staff (Everyone I made contact with), and demonstrated they were very concerned about my health. Treated me with respect and did not make me feel like a number. The Nurse Practitioner was very forward with me regarding my health issue and advised I needed to go to the ER due to the way I looked and was feeling. Thanks to her professionalism and concern I was treated for my condition and things could have been way worse if it would not been for her. Thank God for the health care servicemen and women like her.
